Introduction to Medicine Conference
The School of Medicine at the University of Leeds hosts an annual introduction to medicine conference for Year 12 students currently studying at a college or school in West Yorkshire. This year's event included lectures, discussions and practical skills sessions. Cutting Edge Members were on hand to facilitate discussions and demonstrate stomach stapling and interrupted suturing with both instrument and hand ties in a surgical skills workshop that ran throughout the day. Many students reported the opportunity to suture as the highlight of their day. An enjoyable day was had by all with students reporting the day was inspiring, useful and fun.
